Washington County IDA
The County IDA focuses all activities on three core goals: to create, to grow, and to retain. If passed, ½ of 1% of sales tax will be held in the Economic Development Fund (EDF) and used ONLY for economic development purposes.
To Create a Healthy Business Environment
Economic Development Funds are used to upgrade, build, or maintain infrastructure, incentivize job creation, and support growth initiatives. EDF funds may be used as matching money for grants tied to economic development.
To Grow our Network and Resources
Economic Development Funds are used for training, partnerships, and education purposes for the Director and Board. Economic Development is always changing, and it is vital the IDA understands and maintains knowledge of grant programs and available resources at the local, state and national levels.
Retain our Existing Business
Economic Development Funds are used for business retention and expansion projects and workforce development. It is extremely important to invest in local businesses and operators to spur on growth and encourage job creation.
